For about eighteen years, Mark has been living together with Karen and their two children, Martin and Hanna. As a successful architect, Mark is often out on business, and Karen sees no reason to worry. But Mark spends his absence with Nina, a young and attractive career woman with whom he has been sharing a loft for over eighteen months. Almost a year ago, Mark and Nina even married. Nina is unaware that Mark is having a girlfriend and two children elsewhere, and, just like Karen, thinks she is the only woman in his life. When Mark dies in a fatal accident on a construction site, Karen and Nina are horrified to discover that Mark had been deceiving them for years. And yet, both women are initially angry with each other rather than with him. Mark’s death puts Karen and Nina into an awkward position. Who is entitled to what? Who can claim the wife’s place at the funeral? After the funeral, both women will have to start a life without Mark. They will have to give their life a new turn and find their way by trial and error.
