MPU broadcast now in Canada

“MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ (original Belgian title = “Vermist”) , the EYEWORKS police series about five members of the Missings Persons Task Force investigating mysterious disappearances is now broadcast on Canadian TV.

The Canadian private channel Séries+ (Part of Astral Media-Canwest) broadcast re runs the series.

“MPU” is the first Belgian police series EVER sold to Canada. The French title of the series is “Urgence Disparitions”.

Superb cast, well written scripts as well as well written characters, and a great direction : “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ is as good as an American movie/series, but with a European touch !

“Sophie” – Season 2 launches today in the Benelux

The Second Season of “Sophie” (32 x 30′/ CBC), the comedy-drama in which a pregnant businesswoman is having a particularly tough year , will launch this evening in prime-time on Fox in the Benelux.

Fox will have a first run (pay tv) in Dutch-speaking Belgium and in the Netherlands and the series will be subtitled in Dutch.

“Sophie” is already sold to ABC in the US, to Ukraine and to Russia.

CRAZY COW and Sphere (Canada) work together in Latin America

CRAZY COW has inked a new deal with Sphère for the distribution of the Canadian series “Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin″ (52 x 60′/ Radio-Canada) in Latin America. CRAZY will present the “ready made” and the scripted format of “Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin″ in several markets.

The series is produced by Sphère Média Plus. Headquartered in the Montreal area (Canada) and lead by Jocelyn Deschènes, the production company is a major player on the television landscape, with over 720 episodes to its credit, or 550 viewing hours produced or under production, broadcast during prime time.

CRAZY COW is excited to be working with Sphère Média on the international success of this series.

48 episodes for the First Season of VANISHED-Spoorloos Verdwenen in Russia

CRAZY COW and the Russian production company, which has acquired the REMAKE rights to “Vanished’ (original title = “Spoorloos Verdwenen”) announced today that the first season will be produced soon with 48 episodes.

The Dutch series about a specialized police team, fully committed in tracking down people who have been reported missing will soon have Russian colleagues in Moscow.

Russia bought directly ALL (33) episodes (that is to say Seasons 1, 2 and 3) and has already decided to produce at the same time 15 additional episodes. Shooting with Russian actors starts this fall and a big Russian commercial TV station will launch the Russian remake in a few months.
