CRAZY COW will be at MIPCOM in Cannes from Monday October 4 until Thursday October 8. The Belgian distribution company will meet broadcasters and production companies to discuss partnerschips on a variety of content. The Belgian drama series “The Emperor of Taste” (10 x 50′) is named for the “Prix Europa”, that will take place in October in Berlin. The competition’s main concern is to promote the trademark “Made in Europe” and to reflect the complete spectrum of European productions, to show cross-border programme developments and to be a forum for quality programmes. .
“The Emperor of Taste” (10 x 50′) is directed by Frank Van Passel and Jan Matthijs, written by Marc Didden and broadcast on channels VRT and RTBF in Belgium.
The series picked up also the award of “Best Script” at the Seoul Drama Awards and three awards at the International Festival of Audio Visual Programmes (FIPA) in Biarritz (20-25 January, 2009). The show won the FIPA d’Or Grand Prize for best series, best actress (Marijke Dilles) and best original soundtrack (Wim De Wilde).
VTM (leading commercial channel in Belgium), has just commissioned a second seeason of “Jes”, the drama series produced by Eyeworks. These new episodes will be shot in a few months in Brussels and broadcast next year on VTM.
CRAZY COW is in talks with a French channel for a launch of the Belgian series in France.
“MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ (original Belgian title = “Vermist”) , the EYEWORKS police series about five members of the Missings Persons Task Force investigating mysterious disappearances is now broadcast on Russian TV.
The Russian private channel FOXCrime (Part of FOX International Channels) broadcast the series every Wednesday in prime-time.
“MPU” is the first Belgian police series EVER sold to Russia. The Russian FOX CRIME channel broadcast crime-related programs, such as “Dexter”, “Brotherhood”, “Monk” and “JAG”.
Superb cast, well written scripts as well as well written characters, and a great direction : “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ is as good as an American movie/series, but with an European touch !
CRAZY COW and the French production company Cocktail Productions announced today that they have inked a deal for the development of the drama series “UPA -Bodyguards” (6 x 50′).
CRAZY COW will help Cocktail Productions to work on pre sales of the project “UPA -Bodyguards”.
“Sisters de Wit”, the successful drama series of Eyeworks and Net5 (SBS-ProsiebenSat1) is now on RTL-TVi (leading channel in French-speaking Belgium / Part of RTL Group). The Dutch drama series is broadcast weekly on Sunday afternoon (with as French title “Secrets d’héritage”).
RTL-TVi bought directly ALL (37) episodes and “Sisters de Wit” is the first Dutch drama series EVER sold to French-speaking Belgium.
