MPU sold to Russia / First Belgian police series EVER sold to Russia !

CRAZY COW and FOX RUSSIA announced today that they have inked a deal for “MPU-Missing Persons Unit” (original Belgian title = “Vermist), the EYEWORKS police series about five members of the Missings Persons Task Force investigating mysterious disappearances.

“MPU” is the first Belgian police series EVER sold to Russia. The Russian FOX CRIME channel broadcast crime-related programs, such as “Dexter”, “Brotherhood”, “Monk” and “JAG”.

Michel Daemen -CRAZY COW, commented : “We are thrilled to announce this deal with FOX. This sale to Russia follows previous deals with Czech Republic (Tv Barrandov), France (M6), French-speaking Belgium (Be TV), Canada (Series+), the Middle East (Sabbah)… It’s the first time these channels buy a Belgian police series and they all decided to buy directly ALL episodes available”.

Olga Zhurova, Head of Acquisitions of FOX RUSSIA, added : “We liked the good quality production and the plot of “MPU” and we decided to try it for our Fox Crime channel. It will be the first Belgian program broadcast on our Russian channel. The show has a very good story line and we hope it will attract to the potential audience of our channel: people who loves crime, investigation and mystery”.

‘MPU” will launch on FOX in September and will be broadcast on Wednesdays in PRIME-TIME.

Superb cast, well written scripts as well as well written characters, and a great direction : “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ is as good as an American movie/series, but with an European touch !
