CRAZY COW has inked a license agreement with the French private channel M6, which has acquired the rights to “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ (original Belgian title = “Vermist”) , the EYEWORKS police series about five members of the Missings Persons Task Force investigating mysterious disappearances.
“MPU” is the first Belgian police series EVER sold in France !!!
Michel Daemen – CRAZY COW, commented : “We are thrilled to announce this deal with M6. We had strong interest from several big French networks (a.o. TF1, Canal+, France 2,..) and received the best offer and best slot from M6. The series corresponds to the requirements of an edgy network like M6– it is an attractive action series, with a good script, attractive and excellent actors. We are convinced that “MPU” will be as successfull in France as in Belgium.”
M6 (part of RTL Group) is, after TF1, the biggest commercial network in France. M6 broadcast the best American series (”Desperate housewives”, “Prison Break”, “NCIS”, “The 4400), entertainment (French “Idol”), magazines and movies.
M6 bought directly the movie (1 x 90′) , SEASON 1 (9 x 50′) and also SEASON 2 (10 X 50′ /shooting now). The series will be dubbed in French and broadcast in a few months in prime-time or second prime-time on M6.
Ricus Jansegers, CEO of SBS Belgium (Networks VT4 and VijftV), added : “. “We are very happy to see that our efforts to produce high quality drama are now recognized by key players of the international market. This deal in France opens many possibilities for the international future of the series. We believe for 100% in the high potential of “MPU” and that’s the reason why we are shooting now already a second Season !”.
“MPU” was already sold to Czech Republic, and several countries are also interested in the police series. CRAZY COW will announce new deals for “MPU” in the next weeks.
