VT4 has just announced that it has commissioned 20 new episodes of “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ (original Belgian title = “Vermist”) , the EYEWORKS police series about five members of the Missings Persons Task Force investigating mysterious disappearances.

Writers are now busy with the scripts and the shooting will take place on several locations in Belgium in a few months. More than 40 episodes of “MPU” are now available.Superb cast, well written scripts as well as well written characters, and a great direction : “MPU-Missing Persons Unit’ is as good as an American movie/series, but with an European touch !

CRAZY COW is just back from Budapest and Discop has proved to be very successful. The Belgian distribution company made a.o. sales of the Belgian series “MPU” and the Canadian series “Sophie Paquin”. So, more CRAZY COW programs in Eastern Europe !!!

The Secodn Season of “Sophie” (32 x 30′/ CBC), the comedy-drama in which a pregnant businesswoman is having a particularly tough year , will launch in September in prime-time on Fox in the Benelux.

Fox will have a first run (pay tv) in Dutch-speaking Belgium and in the Netherlands and the series will be subtitled in Dutch.

“Sophie” is already sold to ABC in the US, to Ukraine and to Russia.

The last episode of Season 5 of “City District” was broadcast yesterday in prime-time on VTM (biggest commercial tv station in Belgium). “City District” is still a big succes on VTM : 630 000 viewers watched the police series and “City District” was the most watched program of VTM yesterday !

Shooting of Season 6 “City District”will start in a few weeks.

VT4 broadcasted first re runs of Season 1 every Monday in prime-time and will now launch Season 2. This second season is already airing on several  channels in Europe, Russia, Canada, the Middle East,…

RTL-TVi (leading channel in French-speaking Belgium / Part of RTL Group) will broadcast the last episode of “Sisters de Wit” next Sunday.

The successful drama series of Eyeworks and Net5 (SBS-ProsiebenSat1) was broadcast weekly on Sunday afternoon (with as French title “Secrets d’héritage”).

RTL-TVi bought directly ALL (37) episodes and “Sisters de Wit” is the first Dutch drama series EVER sold to French-speaking Belgium.

“MPU” is the first Belgian police series EVER broadcast on BE TV. Moreover, the channel decided to buy directly the movie (1 x 90′) , SEASON 1 (9 x 50′) and also SEASON 2 (10 X 50′). The French title of the series is “URGENCE DISPARITIONS”.

The Belgian drama series “The Emperor of Taste” (10 x 50′) has just won a “Remi Award”in Houston (Texas).

“The Emperor of Taste” (10 x 50′) is directed by Frank Van Passel and Jan Matthijs, written by Marc Didden and broadcast on channels VRT and RTBF in Belgium.

The series picked up also the award of “Best Script” at the Seoul Drama Awards and three awards at the International Festival of Audio Visual Programmes (FIPA) in Biarritz (20-25 January, 2009). The show won the FIPA d’Or Grand Prize for best series, best actress (Marijke Dilles) and best original soundtrack (Wim De Wilde).
