Adapted from the popular Francophone series Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin, which Radio-Canada has been carrying for two years, “Sophie” is also broadcast on CBC (Canada) and ABC Family (US).The series was then described as a comedy-drama in which a pregnant businesswoman is having a particularly tough year. The Belgian police series « MPU-Missing Persons Unit » (about a team looking for missing persons / 1 x 90′ + 39 x 50′)has been nominated for the 52th Monte Carlo Television Festival taking place from 7 – 11 June 2009.

The series is nominated in the category « Best Drama ». Philippe De Schepper has received nominations in the Outstanding International Producer (Drama) and Outstanding European Producer (Drama) categories.
For Outstanding Actor – Drama, Kevin Janssens and Axel Daeseleire are up for the award, while oke Devynck and Marianne Devrieseare nominated in the Oustanding Actress Category

Created in 1961, by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, the festival aims to recognise television as an exceptional means of bringing cultures together and enhancing their respective knowledge. H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco has been the President of the Festival since 1988. The winners will be rewarded with the festival’s prestigious Golden Nymphs statuettes.

SYNOPSIS : For about eighteen years, Mark has been living together with Karen and their two children, Martin and Hanna. As a successful architect, Mark is often out on business, and Karen sees no reason to worry. But Mark spends his absence with Nina, a young and attractive career woman with whom he has been sharing a loft for over eighteen months. Almost a year ago, Mark and Nina even married. Nina is unaware that Mark is having a girlfriend and two children elsewhere, and, just like Karen, thinks she is the only woman in his life. When Mark dies in a fatal accident on a construction site, Karen and Nina are horrified to discover that Mark had been deceiving them for years. And yet, both women are initially angry with each other rather than with him. Mark’s death puts Karen and Nina into an awkward position. Who is entitled to what? Who can claim the wife’s place at the funeral? After the funeral, both women will have to start a life without Mark. They will have to give their life a new turn and find their way by trial and error.

CRAZY COW has just inked a deal with the TV station Phoenix, which has acquired the rights to « Rembrandt & I » (4 x 50’ / Eyeworks). The large historical biography of Dutch painter Rembrandt will be broadcast soon in a.o. in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and is the First Dutch Tv series EVER sold to these countries !

The producer of this series (Hans de Weers ) was coproducer of the American blockbuster ALEXANDER ( directed by Oliver Stone and starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins, Val Kilmer)? He was also coproducer of the feature film MINDHUNTERS (starring Val Kilmer and Christian Slater). Finally, he line-produced a substantial part of blockbuster Ocean’s Twelve (starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon).

The producer of « Rembrandt & I » also won a lot of prices with its Dutch movies, a.o the Oscar of the Best Foreign Movie for ANTONIA’S LINE.

ANTONIA’S LINE was directed by Marleen Gooris , who directed many movies, one episode of the US series « The L World », and so also « Rembrandt & I » (4 x 50’).
